AUSTRALIA DAY 2020
This is the Story of Australia – the story of an extraordinary nation.
The Story begins 60,000 years ago. New chapters are written every day.
On Australia Day, we reflect on our history, its highs and its lows.
We respect the stories of others.
And we celebrate our nation, its achievements and most of all, its people.
We’re all part of the story.
We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia and recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging.
2020 although only 26 days old has seen this great nation providing another painful time which has already delivered human loss, personal devastation, wildlife loss, livelihoods and lives turned upside down but Australians through personal sacrifice and uniting as one have and continue to take control, restore and rectify the current catastrophe. Please take a moment to remember those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice during this time.
We wish those continuing to battle the current fires a safe and quick outcome.
The story of Australia is a story of me. A story of you, a story of we. In parts its painful, in parts its raw. In others its beautiful, Inspiring great awe. It tells of many people from far and wide and those that have been here since the beginning of time. It brings us together and tears us apart, we all have our own views so where do we start. By listening to each other and sharing our path we are all part of our story. Australia
